Description:
This new state of the art laser cuts the LASIK corneal flap without the need for a mechanical device that uses a blade (microkeratome).
Distinction
This "Bladeless" procedure produces a flap that is much more precise in depth while being cleaner. This is perhaps the biggest leap in vision correction surgery since the introduction of the original Lasik in 1998.
Suitability
Since the femtosecond laser is a high technology replacement for the mechanical microkeratome. Femtosecond makes LASIK safer by replacing the hand held microkeratome blade with the silent computer guided precision of a laser, virtually eliminating the severe sight – threatening blade related LASIK complications as a result. It is suitable for use in all Lasik related procedures. |
